Blíži sa 95. ročník udeľovania Oscarov. Herec Riz Ahmed a herečka Allison Williams v priamom prenose vyhlásili nominovaných v celkovo 23 kategóriách. Tento rok nominovaní nevzbudzujú toľko prekvapenia, ako v minulosti. O sošku zabojujú minuloročné veľkofilmy ako Avatar: Cesta vody alebo Top Gun: Maverick. V zozname však nájdeme aj filmy, ktoré sa v poslednom období veľmi často objavovali v rebríčkoch najlepších filmov roku 2022.
Originálna komédia Všetko, všade, naraz má šancu vyhrať Oscara hneď v jedenástich kategóriách, v rátane tých najprestížnejších – najlepší celovečerný film a najlepšia réžia.
Nemeckej adaptácii knihy Na západe nič nové sa podľa očakávaní od vojnového filmu podarilo umiestniť v technických kategóriách, ako je najlepšia kamera a najlepší zvuk. Cenu za najlepšiu hudbu môže vyhrať Babylon Damiena Chazelleho aj Spielbergovi Fabelmanovci.
Nominovaní na najlepší mužský herecký výkon sú Colin Farrell za rolu dobromyseľného Pádraica vo filme Duchovia Inisherinu, Austin Butler za stvárnenie slávneho Elvisa, alebo znovuzrodený Brendan Fraser za hlavnú úlohu vo filme Veľryba.
Z herečiek na akademikov najviac zapôsobili Cate Blanchett ako Lydia Tár v hudobnej dráme Tár, alebo Michelle Yeoh z už spomínanej veľmi úspešnej komédia Všetko, všade, naraz. Nomináciu za herecký výkon vo vedľajšej úlohe v rovnakom filme získal aj Ke Huy Quan, ktorý sa preslávil ešte v 80. rokoch vo filme Indiana Jones a Chrám skazy. Odvtedy sa vo svetovej kinematografii objavoval len veľmi zriedkavo.
Udeľovanie 95. ročníka cien Akadémie sa uskutoční 12. marca 2023 v Dolby Theatre v Los Angeles.
